The biggest bust since Lolo Ferrari

Photo of Lolo by Karel leermans

UK prime minister Gordon Brown may be planning to hold a general election, before the UK, thanks to his policies, risks going even more bust.

Back in 2006, Alex Yawar, at Ohmy News, wrote about Britain's Bubble Economy (Pop! Britain's Bubble Economy.)

Here are some of the points made:

1. Officially, UK inflation has been relatively low, but in most key areas of the economy, inflation has actually been very high.

House prices, for example, rose 11.4 % each year for a period of ten years up until 2005.

Transport and energy costs also shot up.

2. The U.K. economy relies on consumer spending, which accounts for two-thirds of the nation's GDP.

But the average family does not have enough money to pay for fancy holidays and clothes and cars and so on.

So people borrow and borrow and borrow.

Lolo: Cosmos page (TransAtlanticFilms)

3. The UK population, in 2006, owed £1 trillion in household debt.

14 % are indebted to the tune of £10,000 or higher.

This debt is more than the total annual GDP of the U.K.

And this figure does not take into account the gargantuan pile of mortgage-related debt - £967 billion.

Including mortgage payments,
the average British household has £83,722 of debt.

4. Any move towards a realistic interest rate level will result in economic meltdown.

UK prime minister Brown wants to borrow more and spend more. Britain's personal debt is increasing by £1 million every four minutes. The average UK consumer owes over twice as much as the average western European owes. Vote for Brown if you like a really big BUST. (conservative.)

5. many of the UK's economic fundamentals - and the foundations for future growth - are rather shaky.

6. We could be heading for the biggest bust since that of Lolo Ferrari.

Under the influence of her husband, Ferrari had 25 cosmetic surgery operations to alter her face and enlarge her breasts with silicone.

Like Ms Ferrari, 'we have flooded our system with plastic in the quest for growth.

'The result is likely to be similarly artificial'.

NEW LABOUR AND CHILD ABUSE

Eileen Fairweather, in the Mail on Sunday, has linked Haringey to Islington and Jersey ('I have known about Jersey paedophiles for 15 years,' says award-winning journalist.)

The Haringey boy, from Labour-run Haringey in London, was tortured to death by a satanist.

On 16 November 2008, the Mail on Sunday tells us How a close male relative of Baby P is linked to a big paedophile ring.

This child-abuse ring operated in Labour-run Islington, the part of London where Tony Blair once lived.

Reportedly, the ring supplied boys to top people.

(This child abuse ring, reportedly, has links to the child abuse in Jersey, which in turn, reportedly, has links to the Dutroux affair and the security services)

The close male relative of Baby P reportedly recruited boys from children's homes in Islington for the child-abuse ring, according to a secret report seen by The Mail on Sunday.

In the early 1990s, the relative, as a boy, was put in a children's home, in Labour-run Islington, in London.

All 12 of the children's homes in Islington were being used by the child-abuse ring, which reportedly had links to top people.

This ring included three pimps called Alan, John and George.

Reportedly, the relative, then aged 13, was persuaded, by money, drugs and threats, to supply the pimps with young boys.

The relative tried to blow the whistle.

Reportedly, the relative told social workers the names of boys who were being ferried from the children's homes to various parts of London (Manor Park, Tottenham, Soho and Westminster) to ‘be buggered by old men’.

Reportedly, none of the men were put under surveillance or questioned.

Whistleblowing Social worker Neville Mighty, who had received death threats, named the relative in a report.

Neville Mighty contacted Islington’s then director of children’s services, Lyn Cusack, who is married to a senior policeman.

In June 1992, Mighty was sacked.

Liz Davies, the senior Islington social worker who encouraged Mighty to go public, said:

'We got too close. There were too many powerful people involved.

'Child sex, pornography and sadism are extremely lucrative industries.'

In 1994, an independent report criticised the failure of police and social workers to help the relative.

Bryn Estyn - one of many children's homes linked to child-abuse

On 2 March 2008, Eileen Fairweather at the The Mail on Sunday had an excellent news story entitled 'I have known about Jersey paedophiles for 15 years,' says award-winning journalist.

Eileen Fairweather described the links between child abuse in Islington in London and child abuse on the islands of Jersey and Guernsey. She also suggests possible cover-ups by top police and politicians.

According to the Mail on Sunday article:

1. About 15 years ago, Detective Constable Peter Cook uncovered a child sex ring, with victims in both Britain and Jersey.

Cook's police bosses barred Cook from alerting police abuse specialists in London. Inquiries by junior detectives were closed down by senior police officers.

The child abuse ring members included an aristocrat, clerics and a social services chief. Their friends included senior police officers.

Cook managed to meet people at the National Criminal-Intelligence Squad. Little happened.

2. In February 2008, 'a child's remains' were found at a former children's home on Jersey.

More than 200 children who lived at Haut de la Garenne have described sexual and physical torture dating back to the Sixties.

3. There are the links between the child abuse at care homes in Islington, North London, and the child abuse on Jersey.

14-year-old Jason Swift, killed in 1985 by a paedophile gang, is believed to have lived in Islington council's Conewood Street home.

Two sources claimed this.

Every one of Islington's 12 care homes included staff who were paedophiles, child pornographers or pimps.

Police secretly confirmed that several Islington workers were 'major operators in the supply of children for abuse and pornography'.

Islington children were taken to Jersey 'on unofficial visits'.

Government Minister Margaret Hodge, then council leader in Islington, denounced "gutter journalists" who supposedly bribed children to lie about abuse.

(The Right Honourable Margaret Eve, Lady Hodge, MBE (née Margaret Oppenheimer; born September 1944, Cairo) is a British politician and Labour Party Member of Parliament for Barking. She was the first Minister for Children appointed in a newly created post within the Department for Education and Skills in 2001 . She is presently a Minister of State in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.)

5. Jersey social worker Simon Bellwood was sacked in 2007 after speaking out.

Jersey health minister Stuart Syvret was sacked after publicising a suppressed report into abuse allegations.

6. In June 1991, police in Cambridgeshire raided the home of Neil Hocquart who abused children in Britain and Guernsey.

Hocquart, along with a social worker from Jersey, supplied child pornography to a huge sex ring.

Hocquart, nee Foster, was abused while in care in Norfolk and was eventually 'befriended' by Captain H. Hocquart of Vale, in Guernsey.

Cambridgeshire police and a Scotland Yard squad raided Neil Hocquart's Swaffham Manor home in June 1991.

At nearby Ely they found his friend, Walter Clack, who was also reportedly involved with child pornography.

Police did not get a chance to properly interview these men. Hocquart died suddenly and Clack 'escaped with a £5,000 fine'.

Scotland Yard detectives related that they found at least "two or three" wills of older men who died of apparent heart attacks shortly after leaving everything to Neil Hocquart.

These deaths were never investigated.

7. Nicholas John Rabet, born on Jersey, was a friend of Hocquart's. Rabet became a childcare worker on Jersey.

Later, Rabet became deputy superintendent of islington council's home at 114 Grosvenor Avenue.

Rabet became a key supplier of children from Islington's care homes to paedophile rings.

Rabet and a colleague took children on trips to Jersey.

'Allegations mounted but nothing was done'.

Rabet befriended the widow of an American oil millionaire. This lady died after writing her will in Rabet's favour. Rabet inherited a property in Sussex, where he opened a children's activity centre. Children in Islington's care were regularly invited to stay there.

Hocquart and Walter Clack became "volunteers" at this activity centre.

Hocquart befriended one young boy called Shane (not his real name) who stayed at an islington care home.

Sussex police raided Rabet's children's centre and then contacted Shane, at his Islington children's home. Shane confirmed months of 'abuse'. Attempts to investigate further 'were thwarted by Islington Council'.

Islington 'falsely told Sussex officers it had no file material on Rabet or his alleged victim'.

The independent White inquiry into the abuse in Islington children's homes found that "at assistant director level . . . many confidential files were destroyed by mistake, although there is no evidence of conspiracy."

During the Rabet investigation, Islington refused to interview any other children in care or help Sussex police identify other children in Rabet's photos.

Police decided not to prosecute.

Shane told journalist Eileen Fairweather: "This goes right to the top. You have no idea how big this is."

Fairweather writes: "Third World police... succeeded where Britain's finest in Cambridgeshire, Sussex, London and Jersey had failed."

Rabet was arrested in Thailand in 2006 and charged with abusing 30 boys, some as young as six. Thai police believed he had abused at least 300.

Rabat was never tried. He died suddenly on 12 May 2006.

8. Two other Jersey-born social workers also worked in Islington.

One arranged sailing trips to Guernsey; the other sent children to Rabet's centre. Both were accused of abuse.

9. When Detective Constable Cook travelled to Guernsey, he met two brothers whom Hocquart 'delivered to a high-ranking, respected local man to rape'.

Reportedly no action was taken by senior police.

Jason Swift

In 1985, 14-year-old Jason Swift was killed by a child-abuse gang.

Jason is believed to have lived in Islington council's Conewood Street children's home. (Jersey child abuse link to Islington, London)

Sidney Cooke, Leslie Bailey, Robert Oliver, and Lennie Smith, were imprisoned in 1989 for the manslaughter of Jason Swift.

Cooke and his gang had sexually tortured and prostituted a number of boys.

The gang is believed to have killed at least nine children.[2]

Cooke was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

In 1998, Cooke was let out of prison eight years early.

There have been allegations that very powerful people have been involved in a child-abuse ring connected to Islington children's homes. ( Jersey child abuse link to Islington, London)

In 1982 Margaret Hodge (nee Oppenheimer) became Islington council leader.

She became a close friend of Tony Blair, who lived in Islington, a few doors away from Hodge.

In February 1990 Liz Davies and David Cofie, senior social workers, discovered evidence of sex abuse of children and reported it to a residents' meeting attended by Mrs Hodge.

In May 1990 Mr Cofie and Ms Davies were told by Lyn Cusack, assistant director of social services, to stop interviewing children about the abuse claims.

On 1 May 1997 Tony Blair moved from Islington to Downing Street.

In June 2003 Mrs Hodge was made minister for Children.
(Another minister under fire: call for Hodge to quit over child ...)

The Independent, 9 March 2008, has an article on missing children (Our children are missing: Most vulnerable youngsters are targeted) which tells us the following:

Sarah Benford, 14, disappeared from Welford House children's home in Northampton in April 2000.

She is still missing.

The UK's Police National Missing Persons Bureau has 1,418 "open cases" of missing children.

According to Police figures more than 100 children who should be in care have been missing for at least four years.

Many children who go missing are not reported to the police.

Member of parliament Helen Southworth says: "All figures on children missing from anywhere are estimates because, astonishingly, there is no requirement for data to be recorded or collected nationally."

Almost 1,000 children went missing from UK residential and foster care in 2007.

The number that went missing from care increased from 570 in 1997 to 950 in 2007.

Lots and lots of oil and gas and alternative energy!

According to Scottish Development International (Energy in Scotland – Key Facts about the Industry):

1. There are an estimated 920 million tonnes of recoverable crude oil remaining in North Sea oil fields.

2. Scotland is Europe's leading offshore gas producer, with most of its reserves being found offshore in the North Sea.

3. Scotland has the potential to generate 59.1 GW of power through renewable energy, with the prospect of becoming a major exporter of sustainable energy.

4. Scotland’s gas fields contain a maximum remaining reserve of 1330 billion cubic metres (bcm).

5. The Scottish oil and gas industry supports 100,000 jobs, with almost 3,000 service and supply companies active in more than 40 countries worldwide.

6. As many of the world's unexplored oil fields lie under very deep water, Scotland's expertise in subsea technology will continue to grow in importance.

7. Some Scottish oil fields have been discovered relatively recently and are at an early stage of their productive life.

8. Of the 500 exploration rigs in the world, 75 are to be found in the North Sea.

Energy in Scotland – Key Facts about the Industry

9. The amount of fuel still left in the (North Sea) oilfields could be the equivalent of all that has been extracted since they were first exploited in the 1970s;

enough to last another 44 years.

North Sea could see second oil boom due to huge unexplored reserves.

A typical Scottish house of the future. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Emirates_Palace_Hotel_Abu_Dhabi_front.jpg)

There is a lot of oil left in the North Sea, much more than most people think.

"Untapped North Sea oil reserves far exceed industry estimates... according to geological experts.

"Industry experts now believe that the remaining reserves exceed current estimates by as much as a fifth." - North Sea oil reserves could be a fifth higher

The Scottish Government points out that in recent months oil has produced an additional North Sea tax bonanza of at least £4.3 billion. - Scotland wants share of oil tax

Scotland would be the third richest country in Europe if it was independent.

"Ultimately, Salmond hopes that an independent Scotland would receive a 90% share of North Sea oil revenues, making it one of Europe’s richest countries with an annual budget surplus of more than £4 billion." - Alex Salmond demands £1.5bn oil cash

Tidal electricity generator awaiting installation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_power

Scotland should become the richest country in the world, if it is independent.

The Sunday Times in Scotland,( Huge tidal power plan for Scotland - Times Online), 28 September 2008, tells us:

1. Enough TIDAL POWER could be generated off Scotland's north coast to produce 25 gigawatts of energy.

2. That is FOUR TIMES what Scotland uses at present.

3. Surplus power could be sold to England and Europe.

4. The Pentland Firth, between Scotland and Orkney, is a perfect site for what could be the world's biggest tidal energy 'farm'.

5. Scotland could produce 25% of Europe’s tidal power and 10% of its wave power.

Scotland has oil (at least half the oil is still to come) and it has wind and wave power.

And, more than 1000 new hydro-electric power stations may be built in Scotland in the next few years years according to Scottish Government advisers. ( Scotland may have a thousand more hydro sites)

Above Loch Ness, the £150m Glendoe hydro-electric scheme is nearing completion.

Scottish and Southern Energy's Glendoe project will be capable of generating 100mw of power, enough to power Glasgow.

Glendoe will be the second largest hydro scheme out of the 80 already in Scotland.

Most were built in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

The Scottish Government aims to generate 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.

Glenrothes can halt, or continue, the Rape of Scotland

Scotland has "a remarkable number of first-class economic assets of world class, which have been developed by Scots." (George Rosie 1995, The Fletcher Forum)

But the rich elite in London has been stealing these assets.

As Andrew Marr pointed out, Margaret Thatcher used Scottish oil wealth to help her survive. (Margaret Thatcher)

"Many of Scotland's biggest, best and most eminent companies - the House of Fraser, Anderson Strathclyde, The Distillers Company, Arthur Bell, Britoil, British Caledonian, Loganair - have slipped into non-Scottish, usually English, ownership" (George Rosie 1995, The Fletcher Forum)

Image from: this-is-sparta.blogspot.com/2008_08_13_archiv...

The Scottish Sunday Express, 2 November 2008, has produced a survey of 1,000 voters in Glenrothes, where there is to be an important by-election. (POLL PUTS BROWN ON BRINK )

This puts Labour on 26.5% and the Scottish National Party on 23%.

"Almost 25% of voters are still undecided – with indications that as many as two-thirds of these are ... ready to support the Nationalists.

"Internal polling for the SNP ... suggests the party is on course to give the Prime Minister another bloody nose, but bookmakers last night insisted the race is too close to call."

Glenrothes - by Mcwesty at en.wikipedia

Professor Malcolm Slessser, formerly of Strathclyde University, has pointed out the advantages of Scotland becoming independent. (A Bright Economic Future)

According to Professor Slesser and his team:

With independence, Scotland would gain access to oil and gas revenues.

The material standard of living would rise more quickly than in the rest of the UK.

There would be more jobs.

Tax rates would decline markedly.

From an economic point of view, there is no reason why an Independent Scotland should not prosper if properly governed - ie. there is no economic argument against Scottish independence.

Slesser's report predicts:

The creation of 35, 000 new manufacturing jobs.
Pensions increased by 50%
Unemployment benefit increased 50%
20% rise in spending on the health service.
A trebling in expenditure on housing.

Montenegro, linked to the Mafia and top people

Photo of Montenegro by Einer flog zu Weit

Montenegro and its Prime Minister Milo Đukanović allegedly have links to various Mafias.

Nat Rothschild, UK government minister Lord Mandelson and Russian billionaire Mr Deripaska reportedly have links to Montenegro.

Montenegro's Dukanovic

1. Wikipedia (Cached) tells us:

According to a 1997 report by the Guardia di Finanza, Montenegro is part of a smuggling group divided among various crime families connected to the Sicilian mafia, Camorra and Sacra corona unita. [5]

Various reports implicate Đukanović in doing business with different Mafia bosses like Neapolitan Camorra's Ciro Mazzarella who was arrested in 1993 in Lugano.[6]

Since then, other mafia figures like Francesco Prudentino, Gerardo Cuomo, Filippo Messina operated out of Montenegro closely tied to Đukanović's government.[7]

In 1996, Italy's Anti-mafia Investigative Agency taped a telephone conversation between Cuomo and Santo Vantaggiato, a fugitive from Italian law hiding in Montenegro. The two men were discussing the election in Montenegro, and Cuomo boasted that he was close to senior Montenegrin politicians. [8]

In July 2003, the prosecutor's office in Naples named Đukanović as a linchpin in the illicit trade which used Montenegro as a transit point for smuggling millions of cigarettes across the Adriatic sea into Italy and into the hands of the Italian mafia for distribution across the EU.[7]

Mandelson - World Economic Forum Annual Meeting Davos 2007

2. The Daily Mail, 24 October 2008, tells us:

"Lord Mandelson is facing scrutiny of his championing of the tiny Adriatic nation of Montenegro as a world trading partner. Aluminium tycoon Mr Deripaska has invested heavily in the country...

"Financier Nat Rothschild... also has interests there.

"Mr Rothschild, Mr Deripaska and other investors want to turn a bay in Montenegro into a £5billion haven for the super-rich...

"It emerged that Lord Mandelson had been seen with Mr Deripaska at a Moscow restaurant in 2004, after being appointed EU trade commissioner - but before taking up the post...

"In December 2005 Lord Mandelson signed off a decision to remove punitive EU aluminium tariffs that benefited the Russian's business." - Mandelson to face questions over links to Russian tycoon and plans for a £5bn super-rich haven in Montenegro

3. Richard Littlejohn, in the Daily Mail, 24 October 2008, writes:

"You were living in the Rue des Jeunes Garcons...

"Does the name Dr David Kelly mean anything to you?...

"You came to lower import tariffs on aluminium while at the same time enjoying the hospitality most extensive at the expense of our host, who par coincidence just happens to be the biggest aluminium baron in Russia. ...

"Your two bons amis, Monsieur Rothschild here et Monsieur Deripaska - on whose magnificent yacht you are currently staying - are both investing heavily in Montenegro..." - RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: The cast list of The Corfu Connection reads like an Agatha Christie novel

Balls, Sex and Nazis

.

The Daily Mail news paper , 26 September 2008, showed Ed Balls, UK Secretary of State for Children, wearing a Nazi uniform.

On 23 October 2008, we learn that Balls wants children as young as five to learn more about sex while they are in school.

Balls was privately educated, at Nottingham High School.

Britain has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in western Europe.

Will more young children now be getting themselves interested in "bow-chika-bow-wow"

Young women in deprived areas are up to five times more likely to become teenage mothers.

Britain, under Labour, has lots of very deprived areas.

(Britain’s Troubled Youth / Teenage pregnancy rate alarm)

Children are to be imprisoned in horrid schools until age 18

Balls aims to make it compulsory for kids to stay in school until age 18.

Balls is member of parliament for the West Yorkshire constituency of Normanton. In March 2007 he was selected to be the Labour Party candidate for the new Morley and Outwood constituency, which contains part of the abolished Normanton constituency.

According to Wikipedia:

In September 2007, with his wife Yvette Cooper, he was accused of "breaking the spirit of Commons rules" [12] by using MPs' allowances to help pay for a £655,000 home in north London.

It was alleged that they bought a four-bed house in Stoke Newington, north London, and registered this as their second home (rather than their home in Castleford, West Yorkshire) in order to qualify for up to £44,000 a year to subsidise a reported £438,000 mortgage under the Commons Additional Costs Allowance.

This is despite both spouses working in London full-time and their children attending local London schools.
